MOFFE in Association with Moutse Community Radio Station has created a unique Arts and Culture project in Moutse to help promote, develop and expose talent within the people of Moutse community in their different specialist fields. This programme will help profile all talents existing in Moutse in one place and take it forward accordingly.
#CURRENT PROJECT: DIKELEDI (The Tears) – Short Film
This is our first BIG Creative Arts project running, we are shooting a film about women and child abuse in Limpopo, around moutse, Dennilton. The film is planned to expose and devolop talent available within Moutse wthin Film and Television Industry.
We have given the local youth the opportunity to take part as Actors, Music Composers etc. With the hope that after the shooting of this film, lots of people from this disadvantaged community will have the knowledge about Film and Television Industry, and are hoping that more people in the community will develop interest within FILM and TV industry.
The film is written by Tiego Makitla (MOFFE Founder) and Lerato Masemola (MOFFE Chairperson), catering is sponsored by Blue Ribbon.
Musa leaves Dikeledi’s mother “Sophie” pregnant and comes back 11 Years later when Dikeledi is 10 years old. Dikeledi’s mother dies after being abused by her miserable husband. Dikeledi is left with an abusive man who she doesn’t believe could even be her father.
The man Dikeledi suspect for not being her father starts abusing Dikeledi the same way he did to Dikeledi’s mother. When Dikeledi gets fed-up, she takes advice from her 14 year old friend to organise for the man to be killed by group of other friends. Musa survives from the group’s beating and discovers he is HIV positive and he is not going to be able to talk, handle or walk again by himself due to the beating.
When Dikeledi finds out that Musa is indeed her father, and that he infected her with HIV, and contributed in the death of her mother, revenge becomes the first decision she consider…
THE PROJECT IS ON HOLD DUE TO INSUFICIENT FUNDS/ LOW BUDGET
We are raising funds to complete the project. We need anything from R20, in order to reach atleast R25 000 to cover the production costs for this film.
